  • So I bought this Penske... Now what

I bought it used from SVR, rebuild last month, its a Triple. It has a 500lb spring. I'm around 160 w/ gear, maybe a little less depending how much running I've actually been doing. I'm considering having my girlfriend buy me one or two extra springs for Christmas. What size spring and where would I buy it?

Any tricks to installing? Looks pretty straight forward to me but there's something bound to weird.

    Thanks.

What year is your bike? If 2nd gen 500 will work fine for you.

2nd gen. Looks like I got lucky then

Does Penske have some kind of manual or diagram that points out what changes what? Bunch of turny thingies I wanna play with.

You can download manual from penske site. Reservoir has 2 adjusters, 13mm hex for high speed compression and small silver knob on top of 13 hex for low speed.
Rebound is on bottom of the shock, either knob or screw depending on year of shock.

Are these the proper weights for rider, or rider plus gear?

I'm ~190lbs (without gear). What spring rate do I need for my Penske 8987?

                Thanks
