Hi guys I just read this whole thread hoping to pickup some info I need to put a 09' sv650 front end on an old 80' cx500.
I really just need to know the width of the wheel where the discs bolt on.

    Cheers guys and thanks

      • Hi guys, I'm in the middle of a conversion, but as I don't have the original sv setup as example I'm stuck.

        I have a question,
I already have a machined 6mm offset 525 front sprocket (2 gen SV).
Does that mean I don't need to machine the sprocket carrier?

And how much need to be machined of the caliper bracket?
As the wheel center needs to go 2mm to the right and the RH spacer needs to be 2mm bigger to center the rotor in the bracket, it means I have to machine 4mm off???

Is there a possibility that I throw my measurements to you in a PB Zoran? So you can check them?

        • It is 106mm from center of the wheel to right side swingarm. Put wheel there and adjust rest.

          • Thnx zoran!
With that and my 6mm offset font sprocket in mind, i will have to machine the next things..
Caliper bracket to 25mm (81.5 (wheel center to caliper bracket inner surface) + 25 = 106.5)
RH Spacer 17mm (to align the rotor in the middle of the caliper bracket)
LH Spacer 10mm (to make the whole assembly 239mm)
1mm of the sprocket carrier spacer. (111 gsxr -6 (offset) -1 = 104mm (stock sv wheel center to sprocket carrier surface).

This makes a total of 239mm

                • 4.5 you probably have to look in to supermoto wheels.

                  • Here is pic from rear wheel GSXR1000L7(2017 model) from greek forum.
                    Weight is in kilos,roughly 9lb 24oz

Guy says that compared to K7 it is 70 gr lighter

They use same axle, seal and bearings like gsxr 750 K8.
