  • f3 rim on 650

i have an 02 sv650 and already have an f3 rear rim cush drive rotor etc. Is all i need your $55 kit to make it work? and what is all included in the kit? And will it work with the stock f3 rear rotor or do i need an aftermarket rotor? I know i need to find a 525 rear sprocket for a honda- any suggestions on where for that one? thanks

yes-my kit is all you need.there are couple things to do.like shimming caliper or rotor depending if you use stock wheel along and making sure sprockets studs clear.you get all spacers and bearing and instructions with kit.stock rotor will work even tough it is smaller diameter than sv one.you can also buy oversize rotor from galfer that is same diameter as stock one.I am sure most sprocket companies(vortex-afam..) have 525-if you can't find it sprocket specialist will make you one.

Hi Zoran- I'm looking for this oversized Galfer rear rotor. Do you sell them? If yes- I'd like to buy one.TIA-Terry terryc34@yahoo.com

Is the F3 rotor much smaller? Will a grooved brake pad be a cause for concern?

            F3 rotor is 220mm.sv rotor is 240mm.
last 10mm of brake pads will not touch rotor.I just bevel pads or even cut out that last 10mm so they dont wrap around outside edge of rotor after time when they wear out.

With the F3 rim on an 99-02 SV- what is the gear ratio of the rear sprocket?

Is it similar to the stock setup? 14/44 or 14/45? or is it drastically different?

whatever you make it to be-you need to get sprocket to match your chain.wheel itself makes no difference on ratio.

                    Hi all.
Sorry form my english but I don't speak it well.
I have a question for the fitting on the SV650S 1999 of the rear CBR F3 wheel.

I have bought a 1995 CBR 600 F3 wheel (pic attached) and I have to ask a thing cause I'm not sure to have understand well. To fit that wheel I have bought the Zoran's kit $55. Do I need something else?

I'm trying to buy Galfer rotor for the rear brake but the question is: Do I need even something else? like rear "crown" (i hope to have written it well)

If you see the pic I've attached, on the left of the wheel something miss (I don't know in english the right word) the question is if I need the one of CBR or it is good even the one of SV

                    Sorry again for my english

You need to find cush drive rubbers, sprocket carrier & sprocket from a 95-98 F3 or 99-00 F4.

Basically everything from that side of the wheel from a f3 or f4.

                      2001+ f4i drive assy will NOT work with the f3 wheel, only 1995-1998 F3 and 1999-2000 F4.

So, I have even the F3 cush drive rubbers and I have to buy sprocket carrier.

After that, for the left side of the wheel, it would be complete. Right?

For the right side of the wheel (brakes), after I have bought the Galfer rotor DF007W have I to do some other works? In particular have I to make some adjustments to the rear brake?
                        Thank you

                          Re: f3 rim on 650

you need wheel, cush rubbers, sprocket carrier and sprocket for F3 wheel.
on right side you have to shim rotor or caliper to align, at least with my kit.
so, basically you need complete F3 wheel less two outside spacers and you have choice using stock F3 rotor or galfer oversize.

Hey Zoran, I've been following this, I have a bare f3 wheel that was given to me with my `03 sv, can I use f2 rotors? (I have one) not sure if they are same as f2? also I know I need to find cush drive, rubbers...etc. The rest of your kit does cover the inner spacers and bearings, right?
Sorry for the repititive question, but I'm in unknown territory here...

Other questions for the sv guru: bodywork recommendations ? I have `06 tank, `08 subframe... looking for something different, standard sv stuff is a little boring. It's a racebike, but I'm leaning towards rc51 bodywork, or gsxr...I do have the sv specific vortex bracket.

I also have an `06 gsxr600 frontend I am putting on it, do I need to make any steering head bearing mods?

                              Franz,
F2 rotor works. my kit does not include bearings and inner wheel spacer but I can add it to kit for you.
I have RC51 body on my bike but I have 1st gen. not sure how it would work on 2nd gen.
you do not need bearing for front swap.
